As you can see, this is a brand new club, but behind it lies a large mission.
I hope this becomes a very large and active club, but I will need help. I hope you're up for the job.

THE MISSION
You are probably aware that there are many anime artists here in the Deviant Art community. You might also be aware that as anime artists, they may sometimes experience people looking down on them and their artwork because they choose to draw in an anime style.
You's probably heard people say that the anime style of art 'doesn't count' and that it's not "real" art.
This club is for people to disagree.
People who recognize anime as a legitimate style of art, that originated in Japan, and happens to have become popular recently.
People who realize that just because it's popular, doesn't mean that it isn't art.
People who recognize that art done in an anime or anime inspired style can have all the elements of what people consider 'real' art, and can also evoke the same feelings.
And finally, people who consider themselves anime artists, wish to show off their anime art, and have people recognize it for the artistic qualities that it possesses.
We are not here to discriminate against any other form or style of art, we are here simply to support anime art as part of the expressive form of art.

To Join
Just send a note to the club! It's that easy.
You don't have to be an anime artist to join- you may join as a supporter as well.

To Submit Art
All you have to do to submit your art is send me a note with links to the pictures you want to be posted! Not hard, huh?
I'm asking right now that you only submit a few. We only have a few members, and while we want to show off art from everyone that is interested, we don't want any one person's art dominating the club. So please don't send your entire gallery. Choose a few that you think are your very best, and that are the most artistic.

If you have questions, feel free to send them in a note. I'll try to anticipate a couple right now.
Q: How do I put a link into a note?
A: The easiest way is just to click on your own deviation, and then copy the URL (internet address) and then paste it into a note. When you send the note, it'll turn into a link to your picture. If you're really not computer friendly, you can just tell me the exact title of the picture you want to submit and I'll find it in your gallery.

Q: How will my picture be submitted? I'll get credit for it, right?
A: I will be submitting the pictures as deviations on the club, so the club will have it's own gallery of anime art. Don't worry, you'll get credit for it! I wouldn't take your art away from you. I'll disable comments and give links back to the original piece in your gallery and post your icon, so people know that it is your work. I will also have a note telling people to favorite the original, so that you get the favorites too. Just realize that there are some stupid people out there. No matter how big and bold I write "Please favorite the original" some people will still favorite the picture on the club. There is nothing I can do to stop this, since you can't disable favorites. I'm very sorry.
I will use the original title of the piece, unless you specify that you want a different title for it.

Notes: PLEASE READ
I hope to build a large gallery of anime (/manga) and anime inspired artwork.
Now with this, comes some things to consider.
We are celebrating anime as real art. So logically, the artwork featured should show thought, consideration, effort, and elements of art. Use your judgement. We realize that people are at different levels of development. We're not here to judge your stlye or tell you whether you're a good artist or not. But please, make sure to put real effort into the things you want to submit to the club. If we want people to take us seriously as artists, then we want to present our best work.
Another thing to consider. Fanart. This raises an sticky issue with some people.
I have seen some excellent fanart, that I would most certainly consider 'real art'. I do not want to create a community that accepts anime as art, but rejects an entire segment just because 'it portrays a well-known character' But use caution and judgement. Please don't send a barrage of anime art. This isn't your personal fanart gallery. If you DO decide to submit fanart, try to make sure you have put thought and effort into it.
Finally, I am a rather unknown artist, with few quality works of my own. Therefore, I have little power on Deviant Art. My point?
This is a pretty lofty mission, and ideally, I hope this becomes a large thing.
Therefore, I NEED HELP! I KNOW many people are getting frustrated that their artwork isn't being taken seriously, just because it is anime style. You could help a lot by featuring this club in your journal, and telling people. Especially here at the beginning. So I would greatly appreciate it is you helped get the word around!
One last thing, I will need LOTS OF HELP! I need dedicated volunteers who will be able to help update and maintain the club once it gets going! In short, I will need a STAFF! If you're interested, and you really think you will be able to successfully keep up with incoming messages, then by all means, send a note! I WILL need your help
